There is ‘no guarantee to privacy using a wireless device’

Personal Electronic Devices [PED], cell phones, two-way pagers, mobile email devices, digital music storage devices, any mobile device that has networking and wireless capability, or any combination of these devices and technologies.

There is no guarantee to privacy with wireless technologies. PEDs have little capacity to protect or control the data stored on them. They increase the vulnerability of the data on the devices to which they connect and in the local area in which they are used. PEDs are designed for ease of use, NOT for information security.

PROHIBITIONS

Limit sensitive conversations and communication on wireless devices.

COUNTERMEASURES

Cover the infrared port with metallic tape. Copper is best but aluminum and stainless steel as others, will work also.

Provide acoustic and electromagnetic shielded storage for PEDs in environments that have sensitive information present.

Separate Radio Frequency [RF] transmitters [yes, also your FM radio] from classified computer / phone systems. This includes your Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Cellular, Two Way Pagers, Blackberry Devices, and especially All I-Phone Devices.
We recommend a minimum of a 3 meter separation.

Limit ‘syncing of devices’ to protected computer systems.

Migrate to secure devices, like the Secure Mobile Environment Portable Electronic Device [SME-PED], when available.

Use encryption for email.

DO NOT

Do not get a flu shot. It will NOT help you, and besides we don’t believe in them anyway.
