I’ve been asked that question more times than I can count. What makes our firm different is that we care. While we focus a lot of attention on serving the corporate and legal world, we are also there for the little guy, or gal.
As a New York Police Officer on the beat and then as a Homicide Detective, I would encounter situations that while not criminal, were unethical and just wrong, such as:
- the older gentleman being deceived by his gold digging wife;
- the wife that suspected her husband was cheating on her but couldn’t prove it and she and her children were facing eviction because her husband had spent all of the bill money on the ‘other woman;
- the guy who was being cheated out of his wages by an unscrupulous employer;
- the heartbroken mother looking for her adult daughter who is missing but since she’s an adult, she technically isn’t a missing person; or
- the old man who was being cheated out of his Social Security check by someone posing as a friend.
All of these instances, watching people struggle and despair in a system that works against them, is what convinced me to become a private investigator. At Michael Guadagno & Associates, there is no ‘run-of-the-mill’ case. Each client’s situation is a priority to them so that makes it a priority for us.
